EUROPE: Council of Europe downplays anti-Christian attacks
Attacks against Christians and churches in Europe are being downplayed, according to the European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ). It has criticised the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for a 21 April resolution that highlights antisemitism and Islamophobia but fails to “fully acknowledge the reality of attacks and discrimination against Christians in Europe”.
USA: Senior Covid advisor charged with cover-up
A senior advisor to Antony Fauci, the director of the government research agency National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) during Covid, has been charged with conspiracy against the US.
David Morens is facing indictment for his role in a scheme to evade Freedom of Information Act requests in connection with Covid research grants, including those made by Fauci to the Wuhan Institute of Virology before the pandemic began. The Expose News says Fauci has since tried to distance himself from Morens, and that the scheme involved countering the lab-leak theory and supporting the natural origins narrative.
IRELAND: Social Democrats launch pro-abortion bill
The Pro Life Campaign has strongly criticised the Social Democrats for introducing a bill to abolish the three-day wait before an abortion and to widen the grounds for abortion. Eilís Mulroy of the Pro Life Campaign said: “Clearly the Social Democrats don’t regard the 10,852 abortions that occurred in a single year in Ireland as anything to be bothered about or they wouldn’t be so obsessed with paving the way for yet more abortions to take place.”
In the campaign to legalise abortion in 2018, Mulroy promised voters that abortion would be ‘rare’ if they voted for it.
